The elk hide drum is a great all around drum. It has an excellent sound that holds up day and night. The hides are thinner therefore don't absorb as much moisture on those humid days and nights.

The buffalo hide drum is great for the larger size drums. These are the thickest hides availble. They tend to produce deep sounds. Because of their thickness ther require heavy duty 8 ply frames. Buffalo hide is more suseptible to sound changes due to humidy.

The moose hide drum is a great drum that falls between the elk and buffalo. It is good for all size Pow Wow drums.

The horse hide drum is produces a loud sound. Its is a thin durable hide that holds up well in high humidity. The thin hide allows for a loud sound and depending on the diameter and depth, a deep sound.

Things to consider before placing an order:
1. A ring adds strength to the shell (recommended). Required for thick hides. 

2. 29 inch and larger diameter drums ship by Greyhound Shipping. Do you have a bus station near you?

3. What type of finish do you want? Prices above show a sanded finish only.
4. Do you want a stand for your drum? We have reversible stands for all powwow drums.

5. Do you want any artwork on your drum?

6. Do you want a drumstick and what type?
